Cold weather

Raining these few days during 'o' level examinations. Always forgot to bring jacket, so it's freezing. I covered myself with thick blanket when I reached home, hugging my boaster pillow. I think I was dreaming. I had this warm feeling on my hand when i woke...

Suprising Faces

On my way back home, I coincedently saw my primary school friend, Sylvia. I had been wanting to see her for very long. Today, I just happened to be that lucky. Besides, later I saw my choir junior, May. It's good to see her. We talked a bit about choir. Seeing people really brings back memories.
How did I just spend my 16 years of life? Everything went so fast, it was all a blur. But everytime I think of the happy times I've had with my family and friends, funny and silly things I've done and the difficulties I went through, I would be "Wowed". Hahas, I guess it's not bad living afterall :D

Tibits: Psychology tells you about love

OMG, this is like so interesting. Please, you can miss any of the other tibits but just read this one. I'm sure it's worth your time!

Romantic love is made up of three elements: attachment, caring and intimacy. (Proposed by: Psychologist Zick Rubin)Attachment is the need to receive care, approval and physical contact with the other person. Caring involves valuing the other persons needs and happiness as much as your own. Intimacy refers to the sharing of thoughts, desires, and feelings with the other person.

The colour wheel model of Love
In his 1973 book The Colors of Love, John Lee compared styles of love to the color wheel. Just as there are three primary colors, Lee suggested that there are three primary styles of love. These three styles of love are: (1) Eros, (2) Ludos and (3) Storge.
Continuing the color wheel analogy, Lee proposed that just as the primary colors can be combined to create complementary colors, these three primary styles of love could be combined to create nine different secondary love styles.
Lee’s 6 Styles of Loving
  • Three primary styles:
    1. Eros – Loving an ideal person
    2. Ludos – Love as a game
    3. Storge – Love as friendship
  • Three secondary styles:
    1. Mania (Eros + Ludos) – Obsessive love
    2. Pragma (Ludos + Storge) – Realistic and practical love
    3. Agape (Eros + Storge) – Selfless love

Star-Gazing

Recalling one part of the Australia trip, where we lied on the quiet grasslands, glancing into the night sky. The dazzling stars greeted us. The scenery was picturesque. It's a pleasure to enjoy the peace while gazing at those beautiful stars. We chat, laughed and even sang. There wasn't a time that was more delightful than this. Come to think of it, I miss those stars :(

Poetry: My favorite flower --- Sunflower

Message of the Sunflowers: A magic symbol of peace
Hope In a Dark Time--- Reflections on Humanity's Future

I am who I am,
positive, determined and ambitious.
I will shine to be an example for the rest.
Thus, I became strong to withstand storms and wind.
I will not falter in hard times.
Thus, I became even stronger to shield the people around me.

Dedicated to my favorite flower, the sunflower :)

The Broken--- Sometimes can't be fixed

Bridges connecting two people can be so fragile. A light push and it topples. When trust between two people are broken, it can hardly be fixed. No matter how hard you try to fix it, it'll still be in pieces. Try taping glass for example, regardless of how much scotchtape used to tape it up, it can't return to how it looked originally. Perhaps, that's why people say it takes years to build up trust and just one incident or misunderstanding can break it apart.
I'm not particularly angry at what you did. However, I can't wipe away the disappointment in me. I've warned everyone: Everything is okay until I see it and hear it. You can say whatever you like behind my back and I don't care. Once the words gets to me, its over. And I won't appreciate explanation.
This few years of friendship and what do I get in return? I might have done things that are wrong but do I deserve this? I've learnt my lesson. Now I know where I stand. Now I know who you are.
What's done is done. Don't ask me why, don't ask me who and don't ever talk about this entry in front of me. Just leave me alone.

Misunderstanding

Why do misunderstandings happen so often? Why does it have to go until two parties get so angry at each other? A lighted match can indeed turn into an engulfing fire. So do misunderstandings, they grow into greater troubles.
Usually, when someone mistake someone else doing something, their first reaction is to rage and not confront the other person. Anyway, this can't be helped. So... It's best for it not to happen in the first place. As friends, I think we should be more careful of our words and don't let rumors and words roll into trouble. Beware and watch your mouth.

Tibits: How to make a boy blush

Girls, I have good news for you, have fun reading the below tips :D

1.Compliment him. The rarer the compliment the better. Pick a feature he seems to be, or should be, proud of. If he pays careful attention to his hair then compliment that. If you know him well, then compliment a strong, positive personality trait. Say something about how confident, kind, or humorous, etc he is.
2.Touch him. Just reading that probably made you blush, right? Imagine what would happen if you were to touch his arm, especially if he works out. He'll appreciate the physical attention. Pinch his cheek, he won't be able to help blushing and there's something incessantly cute about doing that.
3.Playfully tease him. Pretend that his hair is a mess as an excuse to stroke his hair out of his eyes. Use an adjective like sweet, adorable, or lovable to describe him. Say the color of his shirt is so last year and then follow it up with "just kidding!" and how you actually like it after a pause.
4.Whisper to him. This works best if you whisper something special that you two share like an inside joke or a secret interest that you can only talk about together. If you've just met tell him an ear-catching fact. Leaning in and whispering is sure to make him blush if he's interested in you.
5.Smile and wink at him. It may be a cliché, but it will probably make him blush. It doesn't matter whether you know him or not. Wear lipstick, mascara, eyeshadow, or even fake eyelashes for a more dramatic effect. You want him to notice that you winked at him, it helps if he's the one who looked your way first. Don't break eye contact immediately!

As usual this does not work 100%

Communication

Often, some of us check our phone almost every minute. Is an SMS that important? Sometimes they are, especially important ones. Your classmate could have just texted you to bring something important for the exam tomorrow. Yesterday, my mum text me to tell me to go home early to celebrate my dad's birthday. So, had to leave study group fast. I was glad I checked my phone for that. Aside from urgent SMSes, messages from friends are also important. It's a form of fast communication and also a social network for us to interact. Text to chat, to complain, to share happiness, to... I left the last one out on purpose. Shan't say it =X

Tibit: Japan Culture

1.Raw horse meat is a popular food in Japan.
2.Sometimes the trains are so crowded railway staff are employed to cram passengers   inside.
3.For many Japanese couples Christmas is celebrated like Valentine's Day in the western world.
4.Sumo is Japan's national sport, although baseball is also very popular.
5.Noodles, especially soba (buckwheat), are slurped loudly when eaten. It is often said 6.slurping symbolizes the food is delicious, but the slurping also serves to cool down the hot noodles for eating.
7.There are around 1,500 earthquakes every year in Japan.
8.Contrary to popular belief, whale meat is not a delicacy in Japan. Many Japanese dislike the taste and older Japanese are reminded of the post-World War II period when whale meat was one of the few economical sources of protein.
9.In the past women in Japan might cut their hair after breaking up with a boyfriend.
When moving into an apartment it is often required to give the landlord a "gift" of money equal to two months' rent.
10.Geisha means "person of the arts" and the first geisha were actually men.

Mini Essay: Stand Up

Iceskaters probably fell countless times when they started out as amateurs. How about us?
Falling down is easy but standing up from where we fall is difficult. We have cleared our first subject for 'O' levels-- English. Well, almost everyone said they screwed up more or less. Since 'O' level grades are based on a bell curve, shouldn't most of us be around the same? After taking the exam, I think there is nothing to be demoralized about. Good or bad, it's over, we can't do much about it.
I remembered once when my English dropped to pit bottom. Horrible feeling. Despite the challenges, I climbed up slowly. My family, teachers and friends had constantly encouraged me. Soon, I was back to the standard I was. My prelim results was atrocious too, but I picked myself up. I know the feeling of not doing well just shuts everyone down from studying. However, I trust that so long as we learn from our mistakes, accept it and move on, we could achieve better results.
The worse we did, the more we need to improve. For this period, we need to stand up quickly from where we fell. We need to come back with more courage, confidence and determination, fast. Failing is not the end of everything, it is the beginning. So, let's grip our teeth and walk towards greater heights.
Dear friends, we'll survive this test together. So don't stop believing!

Hugs

Sweet

Lols, I usually do that?

This is super cute :D
Nursery, we held each other's hands naturally. As we grow older, it gets more and more difficult to hold another person's hand, especially if he or she is of opposite gender. What about hugs? Sometimes, i think hugs give people a very warm and soothing feeling. Cute teddy bears, extra large soft toys and designed cushions are always nice to cuddle. There are just moments when i feel like randomly hugging my mum, but she always rejects it :( Feel like I'm lacking hugs recently...

There is no 100% guarentee this is correct. If you really want to know, ask the person yourself. & Have fun reading the links provided if your free.
You'll never know if your crush likes you. And, once you confirm, don't wait. Never let the chance slip past! Hehe :)

Piano

Canon in D major is really one popular piece. Have been hearing my neighbour play it these few days. However, i myself haven't been touching the piano keys for quite a while. Since i passed grade 6, i dropped piano. It is because anyways, I thought I could learn music on my own. The grades actually didn't matter. Plus, my teacher has been critising me every lesson. She gave up on me. Well, at least i didn't give up on myself. I may not be so geniously talented, but I could play music too---with this pair of ordinary hands.

Photographs: Love?!

After reading a couple of good essays from my classmates, I was on the verge of crying. Some of them are so touching and can really arouse people's emotions. Today and last night, I had a chain of thoughts. I recalled the emotional struggles. Everything dates back to the past...

When we knew nothing about love.

Comes magic

and the seed of love starts growing
It grows secretly
We start imagining
romance with the other person
Got curious. Does he or she loves you?
As time flies, loves goes into the autmn season
From this lovely purple,
It fades into grey
We started asking this.
Sad and heartbroken

It all ends off in the cold freezing winter.

That's usually the case.
A short representation of how love goes. Hope you enjoyed it :)

Skipping School?

Its been quite long ever since i did not go to school on a school day. Today i did skip school but for the right reason. I had to study at home. Thanks to not going to school, I managed 2 social studies SEQ, marking of physics paper, section A for 2008 biology paper... That's a lot for now. Dropping flat on my bed, snoozing. Just one advice from me, if you guys ever skip school, don't do it cause you just hate school. Classroom learning could be very fun sometimes :)

Tibit: Mahjong

Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy and calculation and involves a certain degree of chance. The game is played with a set of 136 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. In most variations, each player begins by receiving thirteen tiles. In turn players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand using the fourteenth drawn tile to form four groups (melds) and a pair (head). There are fairly standard rules about how a piece is drawn, stolen from another player (melded), the use of basic (numbered tiles) and honours (winds and dragons), the kinds of melds, and the order of dealing and play.

Perfection

Perfection is like a mirage. We could only get close to it but never reach it. Human's desires are exactly like this Maslow’s Pyramid. Realising your dreams? The perfection you seek is still far far away...

Poetry: Life

Glance into the blue skies full of possibilities,
lift yourself to fly where freedom lies.
Venture into a world coloured with creativities,
if you can, be famous and make yourself known to all others.
Read widely, write witty,
utilise your knowledge to your own advantage.
Grow up, grow wise,
soon you'll realise you are already mature.

Girls and boys, life is something we should treasure, for we only live once. Live it to the most! And enjoy life to the maximum when you could!

Emptiness

Everything seems to go wrong. The bad things are coming up one by one. I'm starting to think the worst again. I picture negative things that happen. Feeling of emptiness is engulfing me right now.

Tibit: Depression

Depression may be described as feeling sad, blue, unhappy, miserable, or down in the dumps. Most of us feel this way at one time or another for short periods. Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behaviour, feelings and physical well-being. Depressed people may feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, or restless. They may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, or problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions; and may contemplate or attempt suicide.

Tibit: Déjà vu

Déjà vu (literally "already seen") is the experience of feeling sure that one has already witnessed or experienced a current situation, even though the exact circumstances of the previous encounter are uncertain and were perhaps imagined. The term was coined by a French psychic researcher, Émile Boirac (1851–1917) in his book L'Avenir des sciences psychiques ("The Future of Psychic Sciences").
The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", "weirdness", or what Sigmund Freud calls "the uncanny". The "previous" experience is most frequently attributed to a dream, although in some cases there is a firm sense that the experience has genuinely happened in the past.

Destiny Or Chance?

Do you believe that from the moment you are born, your future has been decided? Or have you always choosed not to believe in destiny but believe in chances that can change your future? I would choose chance over destiny. Everyday, there are probably thousands and even millions of opportunities waiting for us. If we keep believing that the future is already decided, we would likely lose hope and miss the chances that could  change our lives for good.
It is up to us to grab these chances and use them to our advantage. As for me, I would treasure every chance I could find to sing in front of people. I aspire to become a singer that could be an inspiration to others. Hence, I would continue to believe in my dream and work hard to realise it. Afterall, I strongly think that humans are able create their own future.
